Buddha – The King of Kings, who used to take Bhiksham (भिक्षां) from people.

Buddha and his disciple used to take Bhiksham (भिक्षां) from people. Buddha has defined a protocol to be followed while collecting it.

The western philosophers used to get confused and considered that, Buddha used to Beg for Food and basic needs. Many Western philosophers have misunderstood Bhiksham with Begging, due to Cross-Culture difference. This is just a case of Miscommunication. Begging is very Ugly word and there is still there is no corresponding good word (in English language).

The people with low Intelligence & Sensitivity might think,
Why Buddha is begging from common man, rich or poor people ?

Buddha was an king, enlightened person and great spiritual master. At that time many other Enlightened personalities used to stay at one place and start sharing their knowledge. But Buddha decided to Travel as many villages and cities, as much possible. It was his compassion to go Door to Door and meet people to raise there consciousness.
Buddha doesn’t need to beg from anyone. He used to constantly Bliss-out, with a Peaceful radiation of his aura. The people meeting him were getting a constant shower of spiritual energy from him.
When someone used to give him Bhiksham, they used to get an opportunity to receive his energy, as per there capacity. Each receiver has its own capacity to receive. If the Receiver is synchronized with the Giver in that moment, then the Receiver will also become enlightened, immediately.
Many people were just attracted by his spiritual aura and they got the opportunity gain some knowledge. They were really Lucky, to have chance of sharing a moment with such a Great master. His knowledge is still useful and effective for Meditation practitioner.
